So managed to go through 2 bags of pay dirt over the weekend but after that got busy so here is the 1st of the 2 reviews from this weekends panning…..
The Review:
So the first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the Pay Dirt looked light, like really light. So weighed it up and weighed out to 3.4oz. Now the seller advertises this pay dirt as:
This auction is for approximately 6oz of rich black sands
So bag weighed out at about half, and to me, that is not approximately 6oz, more like approximately 4oz. I emailed the seller right away and is a very pleasant guy who offered to send me more pay dirt (which I declined). So he was very accommodating and was concerned I might be unhappy. He didn’t seem to see the difference in 3oz to 6oz as long as it had good gold (which it did). So if you do buy from this seller expect lighter than advertised bags of pay dirt.
As to the Pay Dirt itself, it was challenging black sands, so got a good panning work out. The good thing is most of the black sands are magnetized so have a magnet handy. Overall I was pleased with the pay dirt and the seller’s customer service, however, I will always have it in the back of my mind how much gold I would have found if I would have received 6oz. Overall though I would come back and plan on it, might buy the bigger bag though and ask him to weigh it, lol.
